Home Schoolers for Libraries
Many parents in Whatcom County choose to educate their children privately or at home. It is the fundamental right for families to choose what kind of education and information to focus on for their children's future.
Obviously, a family can not puchase and store 12 years worth of curriculum in their homes, so the public library system is a vital and vast resource to home schooling families. Citizens can select exactly which books and subjects from the library's comprehensive and diverse collection. Without the library system, the functionality of home schooling would be greatly threatened.
Imagine if all the families in our homeschooling community suddenly had to fend for themselves for books, materials, meeting space, toddler story time, videos and everything else that the library provides.
