I would like to thank the organizers and voters who supported me.
There is much work left to be done in our community and government, and I will remain committed to pushing for these changes.
It has been great meeting thousands of citizen voters, and I might wish to follow in the footsteps of candidates like Ken Mann and Michael Lilliquist who made a great effort their first time, and then were successfully elected their second time.
Richard May.

A few nitpicky details and thank you's for those who like political minutia :
- Thanks to Shari, Kaelen, Nathan, Peter, Jason, Mira, Janet, Alex, Kurt, Ronalee and Laurel, Riley, Kim, Cheryl, Gale, Bob, Mel & Rick, Don & Donna, and everyone who helped the campaign.
- Much thanks to Bellingham City Councilman Terry Bornemann, an elected official who indicated he would remain neutral during the primary, and kept his word. - an admirable trait.
- Thanks to the elected and appointed officials and other groups who endorsed me, whether announced or not. I was pleased to have been the only candidate to receive endorsements from environmental leaders. Thanks to the Veterans and Military Families Caucus (WSD WAVETS), the WA State Restaurant Association, the Lummi tribe, the Hispanic Latino Caucus WSD, Library and book groups, IWW, John Servais at NW Citizen, WA Legal News (TALP), and other organizations and people who supported me.
- Also thanks much to the endorsing groups that interviewed candidates and chose not to endorse either Democrat in my race, such as UFCW21, Washington State Nurses Association, AFT, Washington Conservation Voters, Sierra Club, Progressive Majority, FPIW, WFIA, the Contractors, the Farm Bureau, the Bellingham Herald editorial board, League of Education Voters, District 7 Firefighters, the Realtors, the Whatcom Young Dems, BIAW, Enterprise Washington, and about two dozen others that would also fall into the category of "basically every single major organization out there that can endorse".
Anyone interested in other details from behind the scenes, Just contact me after the November election is complete.
